Building a slab base

These are the photos of the base I'm building for a sculpture that I'm working on this summer.  I hope the pictures show an inside view, to how I work, using this approach with clay.

New work in progress

With this piece I'm working on, I thought I could show how I work.  I have to work on it horizontally and then wait until the clay is dry enough to support the structures weight.  At that time I'll stand it up and connect it to the base that I'm working on.  I don't have any pictures of the base yet, but I will put some up soon.

After the bisque firing

I thought I'd show the piece I've been working on since last semester and how the progress is coming along.  I thought I would show some pictures of the interior of the piece as well,  to show how I built the work structurally using slabs and hand building techniques.
