This blog will follow my journey in the studio. I graduated with my M.F.A. from the Ceramics program at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and will be the new Artist-In-Residence (Ceramics) at the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach, Florida (2018-2019).

Work in progress
This piece is an exploration of form and surface treatment with imagery that I hand painted using underglazes. I plan on layering other glazes on the initial ones shown to build up the layering I can achieve through multiple firings. This piece has gone through a bisque firing and a glaze firing and will have color added as well around the black outlined forms. The base will change in color as well as the glazes I am using are built up to bring the texture and color that I can achieve through multiple firings. I'll update the progress on this piece in the future. The images were taken by Deric Ence...Thanks Deric for helping me out.

Work from last semester (fall)
This is a piece that I did last semester. I fired it to cone 6 reduction in a gas kiln and used a white stoneware clay body. The glaze recipe is a glaze here from Edinboro called Andrea's Black Bronze. I think it worked well and it's a nice glaze I will definitely have to add to my glaze recipes.
